According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, the club has offered an extension until 2023, with a salary of between €5m and €6m per season.
There is a basic agreement with the player and his entourage, but there is still discussion over bonuses to be included in the deal, which would allow Icardi to boost his salary if certain personal and team objectives are met.
There is no doubt that the negotiations will be successful though, and the striker’s new contract could be announced in the coming weeks.
