Top clubs around Europe want Giorgio Scalvini but the talented centre back has now reportedly penned a new long-term contract with Atalanta.

The 20-year-old Italian defender is one of the most exciting prospects in Serie A, breaking into the Atalanta first team in the 2021-22 campaign before proving his potential the following season, attracting the attention of clubs across the continent.

A long list of teams including Inter, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been linked with Scalvini, who has continued quietly impressing this season. Atalanta rejected a few offers for the defender in the summer, aware that his value will only continue to rise.

As reported by TMW, Scalvini has decided to sign a new contract with Atalanta, tying him to the club to June 2028. His new deal sees him earn €1.5m net per season, a raise reflective of his growth over the last 12 months.

This puts la Dea in an incredibly strong negotiating position for the summer transfer window, when some of Europe’s top clubs will likely come knocking for the 20-year-old talent.
