Salernitana will permanently sign Boulaye Dia from Villarreal this summer before turning around and selling him, with teams like Inter and Fiorentina reportedly keen.

The 26-year-old Senegalese forward joined the Granata on a loan deal with a €12m buy option attached from Villarreal last summer.

He quickly exceeded expectations and has been a star for Salernitana this season, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists in 31 games, including netting a hattrick against Fiorentina and delaying Napoli’s Scudetto celebrations by a few days.

Whilst Dia has been crucial to Salernitana’s success this season, the club are willing to let him go for a profit in the summer, allowing them to reinvest in the squad.

As reported by Niccolò Ceccarini of TMW, Salernitana will pay €12m to Villarreal to sign Dia in the summer before putting him on the market.

Inter and Fiorentina are the most keen in Italy and are planning a move, but they’ll face competition from some unnamed Premier League clubs.
