Intermediaries representing Porto striker Mehdi Taremi met with Inter’s management this evening as the two parties near a total agreement for a transfer in the summer.

The 31-year-old Iranian forward has entered the last six months of his contract in Portugal and is now seemingly set to join up with the Nerazzurri at the end of the season. Last summer, he was heavily linked with both Milanese clubs but ultimately remained with Porto.

Taremi has verbally agreed to the terms of a contract with Inter, willing to pen a two-year contract with an option for a third worth around €3m net per season. The deal also includes a signing bonus and likely agent commissions.

As reported by TMW and Gianluca Di Marzio, intermediaries representing Taremi met with Inter’s management this evening to further discuss the striker’s free transfer in the summer. Whilst a total agreement didn’t arrive, things took a step forward and a deal is looking increasingly likely now.

The Iranian striker has struggled to look particularly prolific this term, scoring just six goals and providing four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
