Friday’s first leg of the European Under-21 Championship play-off with Sweden is to be played at the Stadio Adriatico.
“Returning to Pescara with the Under-21 side is very exciting and I am so happy with this call-up,” Insigne told Tuttosport.
“The Coach expects a lot from me and I want to give my contribution to win our place in the Euros.
“I have the right motivation to do well and for two years we have been working with great Coaches like Ciro Ferrara and Devis Mangia.
“Now we must all give our best to achieve this objective and play the European Championship.”
Insigne has already made his senior Italy debut, but returned to the Azzurrini for this very important play-off, including next week’s second leg in Sweden.
“Italian football is not in such a bad state as people like to make out. There are many young players who are putting themselves in the spotlight and that is also thanks to the work of Cesare Prandelli and Mangia.
“As for the young players, we can only give our best when called upon, so that we can grow with the right motivation.”
