CT Cesare Prandelli must communicate with FIFA a 30-man preliminary squad selected for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil by May 13.

Il Mattino believe that one of the names to make that cut will be Napoli’s Insigne, indicating that his two-goal performance for the Vesuviani in the Coppa Italia Final was a decisive performance in convincing Prandelli, who was in the crowd for that match.

This assertion follows on from Prandelli hinting yesterday that Insigne ‘is among the 30 likely candidates’.

The Naples-based publication suggest that the other attackers who will be included are Mario Balotelli, Alessio Cerci, Antonio Cassano, Mattia Destro, Ciro Immobile and Alberto Gilardino.

If this proves accurate, Prandelli will be leaving out Giuseppe Rossi, Stephan El Shaarawy, Simone Zaza, Domenico Berardi, Manolo Gabbiadini and Dani Osvaldo from the group of 42 players summoned to Coverciano in April for physical assessments.

The Coach has indicated previously that he will take five forwards out to Brazil in his final 23-man squad.
