A source close to Romelu Lukaku has ruled out a shock return to Inter from Chelsea in the summer.

The unnamed source, who is reportedly close to the Belgian striker, told British tabloid the Daily Star that the rumours were ‘bulls**t to sell newspapers,’ confirming that the player would be staying in West London for the foreseeable future.

A recent report from La Gazzetta dello Sport detailed how Lukaku allegedly was desperate for a return to the Lombardy capital, suggesting that he felt the Chelsea move had been a mistake and that he was willing to drop his wages in order to return to Inter.

Contracted to the Blues until 2026, the former Manchester United and Everton man fell into hot water in January after an interview with Sky Sports Italia emerged where commented on his love for the Nerazzurri, upsetting both sets of supporters.

Many Inter fans are not particularly impressed with Lukaku, feeling as if the nature of his move to Chelsea despite the comments professing loyalty made in years prior fractured the relationship.
