Torino forward Ciro Immobile says it would be a dream come true to represent his country at this summer’s World Cup.

The 23-year-old has been in sparkling form for his club this season and could be in line for a call up to Cesare Prandelli’s squad for their upcoming friendly with Spain.

“I am proud that the national team Coach is tracking me,” Immobile said to Tuttosport.

“A call up from him would be a great feeling, but it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t happen this time.

“Last year I wasn’t even in the top 50 players.

“I am developing little by little and that is what matters.

“Two years ago I was in Serie B, last year I made my debut in Serie A and this year I am part of a team that is playing very well and is in the top half of the table.”

Immobile was then asked about his club side.

“We need to get back to winning ways after the derby,” he answered.

“Of course we are disappointed by the derby, but we know we played well against the best team in the league.”
