Torino striker Ciro Immobile says he is ready for his side’s trip to Sassuolo this Sunday after recovering from injury.

The Italy Under-21 international, who has scored nine Serie A goals this season, had to watch on as his teammates played out a goalless draw last Sunday against Fiorentina.

“Last week I suffered watching from the stands for the Fiorentina game,” Immobile told reporters today.

“But now I am ready to come back this Sunday. From Tuesday I have been training with my teammates and I feel physically good.”

Much has been made between the duel of Immobile and Domenico Beradi, as two of Italy’s brightest young strikers.

“I do not see it as a deul within the game, because in the end everyone will play for their team. I would sign immediately for a goal from Berardi, if it meant a Torino win.

Sassuolo will be without key player Simone Zaza, but, Immobile does not believe they will be much weaker with his replacement, Antonio Floro Flores, playing instead.

“Certainly he is an important player for them but in Floro Flores they can still rely on a quality player.”

Immobile than commented on recent comparisons regarding his partnership with Alessio Cerci and the famous Torino partnership of Paolo Pulici and Francesco Graziani of 1980s.

“The comparison between my partnership with Cerci and that of Pulici and Graziani makes us proud, even if the eras are different.

“We are always trying to improve our understanding and achieve the most for Torino.”

Lastly, Immobile was asked about the World Cup and his hopes of making Cesare Prandelli’s squad.

“Obviously it is every player’s dream to play for their national team.

“I know that I first have to do well with my club first and so I will try my best in the Granata shirt.”
