Genoa forward Ciro Immobile has admitted he dreams of being called up to the Italian national side after a goal-scoring start to the campaign.

The 22-year-old has bagged three goals for Luigi Del Neri's misfiring Grifone so far this season, and although he hasn't been named in Cesare Prandelli's side to face France on Wednesday, he has been called up for the Under-21 match with Spain in Siena.

“My dream is to be called by Prandelli,” he told reporters this afternoon. “But for now, I am enjoying this moment with the Under-21's.

“We understand that Spain are the best team in Europe, and that it's going to be a tough game,” he said. “We are very keen to do well though.

“There is a lot of quality in our group.”
