“With Lazio, knowing President [Claudio] Lotito, every negotiation is complicated and difficult,” Giovanni Carnevali admitted at the Press conference to present new Coach Roberto De Zerbi.

“We’ve tried in every way to meet Acerbi’s request, we’ve lowered our asking price twice…
“I think there’s a small difference and that gap has to be bridged if Lazio really want to sign such an important player.
“He’s crucial for us and we’d like to hold on to him, even if we know that’s not possible. But we can’t give in to offers we don’t consider adequate.
“It’s about being fair and balanced on everyone’s part. We hope it can be concluded well for everyone, Acerbi above all.”
