AZ Alkmaar defender Wesley Hoedt says that he is unhappy with his treatment and calls on the club to sell him to Lazio.

The Biancocelesti are seen as looking for reinforcements in the January transfer window and have now received encouragement from one believed target in AZ’s 20-year-old centre-back.

“I never thought of leaving, but I've been a starter for several months and now I'm being placed aside with no explanation,” said the player in an interview with Noordhollands Dagblad.

“I never thought of leaving, but I've been a starter for several months and now I'm being placed aside with no explanation,” said the player in an interview with Noordhollands Dagblad.

“If the club decided I shouldn't play, it's only right that I should be sold. I deserve something more from them.

“And it may be convenient for AZ to let me go to Lazio, but if this is the game they want to play I may think of turning it into a clash.

“I've had many requests, even from within Holland, there are great clubs that are interested in me.

“If I chose to go away the club would be able to do nothing, the prize for valuing youth applies only to international transfers.

“Staying in AZ in these conditions doesn't benefit me, nor the club.”
