Former Inter owner Massimo Moratti says Mauro Icardi is ‘right’ to ask the club for a pay rise.
Icardi’s agent-wife Wanda Nara is reportedly demanding €9m a season for the striker to sign a new contract with Inter, leading to an apparent stand-off between the Nerazzurri and their captain.
“Every year there’s the issue of Icardi’s renewal,” Moratti told Sport Mediaset.
“I think the player has the right to think about a better contract, but I think the club have formulated a strategy to keep him.
