Former Inter forward Mauro Icardi has claimed his move to Paris Saint-Germain was ‘a big step in my career’.
The Argentine left San Siro on loan ahead of the 2019-20 season but the French giants signed him permanently after the 27-year-old contributed 20 goals in 31 games.
He lifted the Ligue 1 title in his first season at the club and scored five times in six Champions League games to help them advance to the quarter-finals.

“It was important for me to take a big step in my career,” Icardi told the club’s official website. “I’m 27 years old, I spent a lot of time in Italy.
“I wanted to arrive at a club like PSG to win titles and play at the highest level. This is what made me want to change and progress in my career.”
Icardi spent six years at Inter and two with Sampdoria, leaving Serie A after having scored 121 goals in 219 games in the competition.
