Inter President Erick Thohir insists striker Mauro Icardi is part of the club’s future plans.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a summer move to Atletico Madrid but the Indonesian said the player would stay at San Siro.

He also claimed that the Nerazzurri had not held talks over signing David Villa or Alvaro Morata and looked ahead to his team’s match with Napoli tomorrow.

“Icardi is important for us,” Thohir told FcInterNews.it. “He will definitely be part of Inter moving forward in the future, just like Kovacic.

“There are no discussions taking place about David Villa. I was in Madrid for the Press conference about the Inter-Madrid match, then we went to lunch with a Madrid delegation.

“Now I am back here, so we haven’t discussed the transfer market.

“All the matches are important. There are still four matches left to play and we need to get as many points as possible.”
