The reasons for all of this have not been made clear, other than Coach Luciano Spalletti and director Piero Ausilio insisting it was a painful decision they had to think very carefully about.

Icardi has reserved his response to social media and so far the tension is only increasing.
He posted an image this afternoon of him undergoing physiotherapy at the training ground, but director Ausilio then told Sky Sport Italia it was simply routine, as he had no injury concerns.
Just as Inter were kicking off against Rapid Vienna, Icardi posted on social media that he was spending Valentine’s Day with his wife – and agent – Wanda Nara.
This evening, after the game and post-match comments, he posted this on Instagram.

Wanda also added her own comment on Twitter and Instagram, with an image of her hugging her husband.
