Mauro Icardi has reportedly set out his terms and conditions in order to resume playing for Inter, including a public ‘rehabilitation’ of his character.
The striker has not featured since he was suddenly stripped of the captaincy on February 13, as it was handed to Samir Handanovic.
He is officially out with a knee inflammation, but Coach Luciano Spalletti said in a Press conference that the medics had given the all-clear, only for Icardi to refuse.

He is officially out with a knee inflammation, but Coach Luciano Spalletti said in a Press conference that the medics had given the all-clear, only for Icardi to refuse.
“No, I’ll tell you when I am ready to play,” was the quote Spalletti attributed to Icardi.
There have been several meetings over the last few days between director Beppe Marotta and Icardi’s new lawyer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentine has set out various terms and conditions that must be met before he will resume training or even playing for Inter.
These include a ‘public rehabilitation’ of his image by the club and Coach Spalletti, with a clear explanation of precisely what caused the club to remove his armband.
There is a great deal of confusion around the situation, as while Marotta and Spalletti only drop hints at the reasons Icardi is no longer the captain, wife and agent Wanda Nara repeatedly stated he did “nothing wrong” and the decision was out of the blue.
It is hinted Icardi needs to take a step forward and apologise to his teammates, something the player is refusing to do, because he doesn’t feel that he did anything wrong.
The situation is becoming urgent, as Lautaro Martinez is the only available striker and he will be suspended for the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16 with Eintracht Frankfurt.
If Lautaro picks up a yellow card this weekend, then he’ll also be suspended in Serie A for the Derby della Madonnina with Milan.
