Mauro Icardi sees Inter’s 3-1 victory away to Roma as “a really good sign” for Luciano Spalletti’s new era.

The Nerazzurri were trailing to an Edin Dzeko opener and rode their luck with the woodwork, but an Icardi brace and Matias Vecino tap-in turned it all around.

“We had a wonderful second half, came out fighting and you could see the difference on the field,” Icardi told Mediaset Premium.

“It’s just the start of a new season under a new Coach, so we are getting accustomed to the dynamics and mistakes can happen. We did well playing the ball in the opposition half

“This victory is a really good sign, now we need to prepare well for the next game too.

“Now I’ve got my chance to play for Argentina and I am going to enjoy it.”

Remarkably, Icardi had never scored at the Olimpico in seven previous attempts and Inter's last Serie A victory here was in 2008.
