Inter captain Mauro Icardi says “at 40 I won’t be in football, I’m not like Francesco Totti”.
The Nerazzurri striker took his tally for the season to 11 in 10 games with a brace against Sampdoria on Tuesday, but he doesn’t expect to play on into his late 30s.
“I see myself here, I want to stay at Inter for a long time,” Icardi told Undici.
“I want to win something with this shirt, but I won’t be in football at 40, I’m not like Totti.

“I’m not going to be a Coach or a director, I don’t think I’d like those roles. I think I’ll just be a dad, at home, with my family.
“It’s not difficult for me to be Inter captain, I have the personality to do it easily. Being the Inter captain is my mission, and I’m proud of all of this.”
Some have claimed Luciano Spalletti’s side are lucky, despite a start to the season which has left them just two points behind Serie A leaders Napoli.
“No, we’re not lucky, we worked really well in pre-season, we changed everything. The Coach is very attentive.
“Above all what we have in our head is the objective everyone is asking of us: the club, the President, right down to the last person who works here.
“We’re not thinking about the Scudetto, we’re just thinking about working well.”
