“I’m focused on the job and I want to give my best in every game,” Icardi has commented in an interview with the Corriere della Sera today.

“To the mister I can only say thank you because as soon as I was able to train with continuity he has given me a chance, which I have tried to make the most of.”

The 21-year-old was asked about his World Cup hopes and if he regretted not opting to play for Italy instead of the country of his birth, Argentina.

“I’m young, I live day by day and my thoughts are on Inter. Then, if I get the chance, I will be happy.

“You do not choose a national team so as to find a place in it. I have always said that I feel Argentine and I had to play for Argentina, with all due respect to Italy.”
