Inter striker Mauro Icardi says the Celtic Park atmosphere doesn’t intimidate him, and will only fire him up.

The Nerazzurri take on the Scottish champions in Glasgow on Thursday in the Europa League, with a sell-out crowd of 60,000 to welcome them, but the former Sampdoria man says he won’t be intimidated.

“The Celtic fans will create an intense atmosphere,” Icardi admitted to the Daily Record.

“But anybody who knows me knows that things like that do not affect me. If anything I will feed off it.

“If the Celtic fans think they can create an atmosphere that will intimidate me they are in for a shock.

“The day of the game in Scotland is my birthday – and the only present I want on Thursday is to come back to Italy with a good victory for Inter.

“It’s so important that we get off to a good start and put ourselves in a good position for the second game.”

The Argentine also told the Scottish newspaper he models his game on compatriot Gabriel Batistuta.

“People compare me to Batistuta and he is the player I base myself on.

“I have great technique, a good shot and I’m pretty good in the air. I think I’m a lot like him.”
