Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future at Milan is in doubt due to concerns about his fitness following his latest injury.

The 40-year-old Swedish forward is currently working hard in the gym to recover from an Achilles tendon issue suffered in the 0-0 draw with Juventus last weekend. He expects to be fit in time for next weekend’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter, but this latest injury has again led to questions about his future with the Rossoneri.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibrahimovic’s contract expires with Milan at the end of this season and the decision to renew will not come from a sit-down meeting, but instead it’ll be something that is decided itself.

If Ibrahimovic’s motivation and physical condition hold up, Milan will automatically look to renew his contract, believing him to be a vital part of the dressing room. But, if the 40-year-old Swede feels the fatigue and disillusionment with the game, the two parties will go their separate ways in the summer.

Nothing has been decided yet, but questions are starting to be asked as the second half of the season gets into fully swing.

  1. At this point in time, with the way he still wants a big salary, I feel it’s time for Milan to let him go, he is too injury prone, and honestly his game play has declined, but honestly he is still better than Giroud, if Milan can bring belotti it would be fine, bring back Juan Capanni and Colombo, and be patient with them, I feel their is something to be had, Milan need to understand players need patience and nurturing, you can’t always solve your problems by spending money, it was a mistake to sell Andre Silva, what was the benefit of letting Hauge go and keeping Castillejo…???
Bringing Messias was a mistake , honestly he is not good enough to earn a contract with Milan at 30…

  2. Last year and before that, his presence alone was worth 7m a season for Milan even if he didn’t play many matches. He had still respectable stats too.

I think it’s time to say goodbye and turn the page though.

  3. Yea, time for Ibra to go. Love that guy but its over. Talking about what Usman mentioned, Andre Silva going made sense since he wasn’t performing that great with us however letting Hauge go was the stupidest decision ever specially letting him go over Castillejo. But yeah…

    OUT:

    Ibra
    Castillejo
    Kessie
    Romagnoli
    Bakayoko

    IN:

    Adli
The age old question of a proper number 9 (Not sure about Bellotti)
    Pobega
    CB
