According to the latest reports from the Rossoneri camp, fitness tests in the morning will be decisive for coach Stefano Pioli’s choices.

Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer and Rebic are back in the squad, but nowhere near 100 per cent fit.

The same goes for Rafael Leao, Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria, as the Portuguese striker limped off during the 1-0 defeat to Napoli, while the two defenders weren’t even ready for the bench.

Ibrahimovic will give absolutely everything to be in the starting XI against his old club in this big Europa League fixture.

His fitness test is going to be the decisive factor in choosing a line-up, and he is currently the favourite ahead of Rebic and Leao, but none of the forwards are in good shape.

Franck Kessie was visibly exhausted against Napoli on Sunday and was given a rare substitution after an hour, but he will nonetheless start tomorrow with Soualiho Meite the more likely option rather than Sandro Tonali.

Simon Kjaer also missed the Napoli game, but he scored the equaliser at Old Trafford and is back in the middle with Fikayo Tomori.

Theo Hernandez returns after he missed the trip to Manchester with gastroenteritis, while Diogo Dalot is more likely to start than Davide Calabria at right-back.

Probable line-up

Milan (4-2-3-1): G Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Meite, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Krunic; Ibrahimovic
