New Verona Coach Gigi Del Neri says his first game against Pavia will be used 'to get to know the players'.
The tactician already presented himself to the team and the public folllowing his surprise appointment, and now he discussed the upcoming Coppa Italia game against a Lega Pro club.
“Against Pavia the purpose of the game will be to get to know the players,” he told the Press. “I'll be giving time to those who need to play and rest the ones that will be playing more in the championship, which is necessarily more important to us.
“We'll face the Coppa Italia with the appropriate seriousness, because nobody likes to lose.
“We'll try fielding a formation that can face the game in the best possible way. We'll be giving a chance to the youngsters, naturally.
“I'll see who is available, we could play with the 4-4-2 or with the 4-3-3, what matters most is that we play well. We need to make the most of the players capable of playing on the wings and of covering in possession.”
