Napoli have revealed just what sacrifices they would have to make to sign Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal.

The Italian international, valued at around €30m by the Liga outfit, has been paired with the Azzurri over recent months after making a name for himself in Spain and with the Azzurri.

However, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated that signing the American-born striker would require making changes to his present squad.

"I would need to sell one of my jewel players in order to sign Giuseppe Rossi," the Stadio San Paolo chief stated.

The movie mogul also rubbished suggestions that Napoli could sell Marek Hamsik in the future to finance a deal for Mario Balotelli of Manchester City.

"It's better to have Marek here in Napoli than Balotelli," De Laurentiis continued. "Mario still has to learn how to control his temperament."

Hamsik and Balotelli are both looked after by agent Mino Raiola, a man who yesterday spoke about their futures.

"When Raiola buys Napoli he can do what he wants by deciding who to buy and who to sell," concluded De Laurentiis with a smile.
