Torino made it tough for them, but Roma emerged with a 3-2 victory that secures fifth place thanks to Edin Dzeko, Chris Smalling and Amadou Diawara.

It was a very entertaining game, as Alex Berenguer put Toro in front by taking advantage of a defensive error on Simone Zaza’s though ball.

Dzeko equalised immediately, this time with the Henrikh Mkhitaryan inspirational pass, then turned it around through Smalling’s header on a corner.

Aleksandar Kolarov’s free kick hit the woodwork and Zaza had a goal disallowed for his push, but Koffi Djidji clattered Dzeko for an inevitable penalty.

It still wasn’t over, as Wilfried Singo got his debut Serie A goal thanks in part to some shaky Pau Lopez goalkeeping.

Dzeko thought he’d added another in stoppages from an impossible angle, but it was disallowed for the tightest of offside decisions.
