Inter’s chances of signing Arturo Vidal appear to be decreasing after Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes heaped praise on the Chilean.

It had been reported that the German Coach was unhappy with the midfielder’s attitude in training and was considering allowing him to leave in the January transfer window.

The Nerazzurri were said to be at the front of the queue to secure his signature, but Heynckes has now declared himself happy with Vidal’s improved work-rate.

“I had a long talk with him two weeks ago,” the Bavarian club’s tactician admitted.

“I told him I wasn’t satisfied with his general physical condition. I added that if he wanted to play, he would have to change something.

“He didn’t see it exactly that way, but from that moment he changed the way he trained.

“This week he has been exceptional. I know very well what he is capable of.”

Heynckes' comments suggest Vidal now has a longer-term future at the German champions, meaning Inter will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
