The Brazilian was signed from Inter this summer, and was initially expected to be deployed as a trequartista.

However, Coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that the envisions a deep-lying playmaker role for the 30-year-old.

“We have to always give our best in training and wait for our chance,” Hernanes told Sky.

“The boss gives a chance to all of us, and that’s a positive aspect. You know that you’ll get your opportunity because there are so many games.

“I came to play in the hole, then I only played there three times. But the strength of my career has always been my ability to adapt to different positions.

“I don’t think most players find that to be a good thing, because you have to find your role and then improve in that role, but it was different for me and my strong point has always been the ability to play in different positions.

“When I arrived here I had an idea, then talking to the Coach made me think differently. Now I’m almost 100 per cent adapted to this role.

"I was happy with my contributions against Samp in my new position. Admittedly, I had a tough start to life here for which I was criticised but there is little use in focusing too much on that kind of thing: I choose to focus instead on what really matters, improving as a player.”

Hernanes also praised the atmosphere around Vinovo, believing he has been instilled with a will to win.

“I saw that Edgar Davids said that he learned how to win here.

“I also found an explanation in reading a book by Bruce Lipton, who was a scientist. He did an experiment with cells, where the cells adapted and changed according to their environment.

“What makes the environment so special here is that it’s so strong that when you come here your thinking changes and all your cells become Bianconero.

“So it’s a special atmosphere, it’s so overwhelming in making us feel this this Juventus experience.”
