The tactician has come in for criticism during his first season in charge at San Siro but has repeatedly received public backing from both his players and President Erick Thohir.
“It’s strange in football because if people don’t see results immediately they boo,” Hernanes told Sky Sport 24.
“During some matches there has been something missing at times and the fans have booed. It’s something you need to accept in a season like this.
“Is Mazzarri the right man for the future? Yes, definitely. I really hope we continue with him because I see him as a Coach who can do a lot for Inter.”
The Brazilian then discussed his time at Inter so far, having joined the club from Lazio in January. He scored his first goal at San Siro during the Nerazzurri’s 4-1 win over the Biancocelesti last Saturday and said he did not celebrate the milestone out of respect to his former side.
“I had already decided not to celebrate in the event of me scoring, so it was in my thoughts.
“It was my first goal at San Siro and I was worried I would forget the promise I made to myself to respect my former team.
“It was difficult to not celebrate because it was an important goal both for myself and for Zanetti’s farewell.
“When I arrived here I said that I wasn’t thinking about anything much, just about working hard. If you do that, the results will come.
“That’s what I have done, I work hard and I do everything I can to improve. Some important things have already happened, like my first goal at San Siro and my call-up for the World Cup.
“Good things are happening so I was right. I will concentrate along with the rest of the team.”
