Hellas Verona have turned down a €15m offer from Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton for starlet Ivan Ilic, reports highlight.

The Gialloblu picked up the Serbian midfielder from Manchester City’s youth system in September 2020, initially signing him on loan before making his deal permanent for around €10.8m a year later. Ilic has immediately impressed with Verona and is a key figure in their squad, clearly destined to play in a top side.

As reported by TMW, Brighton submitted an opening bid for Ilic, around €15m, but it was rejected by Hellas Verona, who are hoping to pick up a little more for their Serbian starlet.

The Serie A side will need to pay Manchester City another €4.8m once they sell the 21-year-old, meaning it’ll take a few more million for them to be convinced of a deal.

Torino have emerged as serious competitors for Ilic and are planning a €16-18m offer for the midfielder.
