General manager Giuseppe Marotta insisted yesterday that the Old Lady had ‘abandoned’ talks for the player, and Heldt denies there was ever more than one offer.

“Don’t trust the Italian media,” the director said in a Press conference.

“We haven’t heard from Juventus for a long time, there are no negotiations. An offer was rejected before the [friendly] match with Porto, [but] the stories from Italy aren’t true.

“There was no second offer, and we’re not in contact with the Bianconeri. It seems anyone can feed something to the media and they’ll talk about it.”
