The Giallorossi have contested 16 seasons in the Italian top flight, and are currently in this season’s competition.

The club has never managed to stay in Serie A beyond three consecutive seasons. This has happened on several occasions, from 1988-91, 1999-02 and 2003-06.

Lecce have only ever won Serie B once, in 2009-10, with every other promotion to Serie A coming through either finishing second, third or via the play-offs.

Notable players to have played for the club include Antonio Conte, Mirko Vucinic, Valeri Bojinov, Luis Muriel, Juan Cuadrado, Gheorghe Popsecu, Fabrizio Miccoli and Javier Chevanton.

Lecce’s best result in Serie A was their ninth-placed finish in 1988-89, under the guise of Carlo Mazzone.
