The club’s captain has since released a short statement in reflection of the upset through his official website.
“Throughout the match we had the significant advantage, playing at Chievo’s goal,” Hamsik is quoted as saying.
“However, when we do not score, we cannot win. The visitors got to our goal just the once and it was a goal.
“For this home loss we are very sorry.”
