Francesco Guidolin hopes Udinese-owned striker German Denis can continue his amazing Atalanta scoring rate, “but only from Monday!”

Denis is the biggest threat in Sunday’s match at the Stadio Friuli and will be out for revenge after failing to make his mark in Udine.

“We are very happy if Denis does well with Atalanta, but only from Monday onwards! I already said many times he is a splendid lad and a good player, who now is proving we were right to invest in him.

“Last season he was recovering from injury and had two great strikers in front of him in the pecking order, but when called upon he did act like a leader.”

This could be a pivotal weekend for Udinese, as main rivals for third place Lazio” data-scaytid=”39″>Lazio have a very tough task in the derby.

“It’s not easy,” continued Guidolin. “We will often be called into a crossroads from here on in and hopefully right to the end, as that will mean we’re battling for important positions.

“We cannot always be in top gear and those who play sport know there is no such thing as two identical performances.

“I watched many Atalanta matches and they impressed me. I saw a squad that is one of the big surprises of the season.”

Udinese have officially announced the arrival of Maurizio Trombetta into their coaching staff. He is best known as Coach of Romanian clubs Cluj and Targu Mures, but was Guidolin’s assistant manager in the past.
