Francesco Guidolin insists he “never really wanted to leave Udinese,” despite stating he was too exhausted to prepare for a Champions League preliminary round.

The Coach dropped that bombshell straight after securing third place in Serie A with a win at Catania.

“I never really wanted to leave Udinese, nor did I say that I wanted to quit. This is my world,” explained Guidolin on Radio Deejay.

“I just said that I was very, very tired. I was thinking that the new season would start in only two months and I was worn out.

“I spoke to the Pozzo family and explained my fatigue, but we cleared things up and for me Udine is the ultimate, which could include being here in a different role in future.”

The tactician revealed he will use yoga to help calm the effects of stress in modern football.
