Francesco Guidolin warns Udinese fans that the last two years of reaching Europe were “the exception and where we are now is the norm.”

The Friulani finished fourth and third in Serie A, eliminated twice in the Champions League play-offs, but are now struggling mid-table.

“Losing the play-offs was a burning disappointment. Now we must concentrate on Serie A and try to do our best,” said the Coach.

“We have to keep in mind that the last two years were the exception and where we are now is the norm. It’s a shame we went out of the Europa League, but it was a very tough group.”

Guidolin has hinted this could be his last season in Udine, as he is feeling the stress.

“I needed to recover and was very tired. Many times you feel like saying enough is enough, but I am very fond of my work. When you are outside of this world and do not get the chance to coach a team, you realise that you can’t do without it.”
