Francesco Guidolin is flying high with Udinese, but reveals he “was close to Juventus and Lazio in the past.”

The Coach is top of the table alongside Lazio going into this weekend and is widely considered one of the best tacticians in Italy.

“When I was young, I always dreamed and waited for a call from a big club, but it never came,” he told Radio Manà Manà.

“Now I am happy with my career and have no regrets. When Sergio Cragnotti was in charge of Lazio, I was very close to taking the job and it all seemed to be sorted out. I was wrong.

“Around five or six years ago I had intensive negotiations with Juventus, but again nothing ever came of it.”

Guidolin has no regrets, as he has taken Udinese to fourth place last season and currently the leadership role.

“We are doing something that not even I expected. I hope to end my career with Udinese, and if they don’t want me anymore then I’ll go abroad. In a few years I think I’ll retire, as I’m feeling tired.”
