The Udinese” data-scaytid=”23″>Udinese Coach spoke to Radio Deejay today and was asked about his views on the current Serie A scene.
“In my career I have often had typical centre-forwards, but football changes over the years and so I also adjusted my style of play,” he said.
“Now they make the most of the modern striker, a central reference point who knows how to play the ball to feet and combine with his teammates. The ideal modern striker is Milito.
“In today’s football the trequartisti are returning, as Barcelona became the strongest side in the world without any ‘giant’ forwards. The use of 4-2-3-1 in European football has favoured the emergence of talented players who can run the game behind the strikers.
“Zeman is a great Coach, but he hasn’t remained the same either. He changed the way he plays and isn’t as focused on the attacking moves as much as he used to.
“In my view the best Italian player of the last 25 years was Roberto Baggio. He had quality, creativity, talent and is the man who had the biggest effect.”
