Francesco Guidolin has rejected rumours that he has held talks with Inter about taking over as their Coach next season.

The Nerazzurri are linked to Guidolin, among others, as they look to find a more permanent Coach to take charge from the start of 2012-13.

However, the current Udinese tactician, whose Zebrette sit three places and seven points above Inter in the table, has dismissed the rumours for the time-being.

“I do not want to talk about this from here to the end of the season,” he told assembled reporters on Tuesday.

“I do not want to talk about this from here to the end of the season,” he told assembled reporters on Tuesday.

“I want to focus only on my team. I’m just saying that I’ve had no contact with anyone and nor have the people who represent me. To date, no-one has come in to talk to me.

“I do not want to talk about it.”

Guidolin, however, did have his say on the fact that in light of Claudio Ranieri’s departure from the Nerazzurri yesterday, Serie A have reached a record total of 16 Coaches sacked or resigned for the season.

“Our football is this, but it is not sick because of this. Of course in Italy it is hard, there’s no time, no patience, what is true today doesn’t count tomorrow.

“I like to quote a phrase of Gianluca Vialli’s – Victory in Italy was a relief, victory abroad was a joy. We need a change of mentality, but it takes time. In other countries it is so.

“At such a point, players will be able to grow, clubs will be more willing to try youngsters, the stadiums will be full of smiling people.”
