Novara have joined Lecce in trying to sign Juventus’ Fabio Grosso before the transfer window closes.

Lecce confirmed their interest in the left-back last week, but it now appears that fellow strugglers Novara are also keen on the World Cup winner.

The veteran, 34, is available for transfer after making just two Serie A appearances for the Old Lady so far this season.

“There is nothing new to report,” Lecce sporting director Carlo Osti told calcionews24.com. “We’re waiting for a few things to happen.

“There should be some developments in the next few days.”

Grosso was signed from Lyon ahead of the 2009-10 campaign.

He’s made 47 League appearances for the Bianconeri since his arrival, scoring two goals.
