The Germany international's move from Bavaria to Tuscany was completed on Monday evening, with Vincenzo Montella's men set to pay around €20m for the goalscorer.
And the former defender believes that the 27-year-old will enjoy his football in Serie A.
“I think Gomez has made the right choice,” he told Sky Sports News. “At this time Bayern are overcrowded with attackers.
