Uruguay international Diego Godin has reportedly started negotiations to terminate his deal at Cagliari, planning for a possible move back to Spain.
The centre-back arrived from Inter in September 2020 but has endured a frustrating time in the relegation battle ever since moving to the island.
The 35-year-old has not managed to help the Rossoblu up the table, as they sit bottom in Serie A after 12 games and Mundo Deportivo in Spain suggests he might return to La Liga very soon.
The newspaper claims Godin has started to negotiate the termination of the contract with the Casteddu, after signing a deal until June 2023 at the Sardegna Arena.
Godin, capped 153 times by Uruguay, first arrived to Italy in July 2019 – when he joined Inter from Atletico Madrid on a free transfer.
The former Rojiblancos defender has, according to the newspaper, received an important offer from his former club in La Liga.
