“We faced a very good opponent, who have been the champions of Bulgaria for several years now,” Godin told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was a struggle to find space in the first half and the ball was difficult to control on that turf, but after the break we increased the intensity and the game opened up with the goal.
“This was a good response from the players after squad rotation, because big clubs who want to win need a large group to choose from and it’s up to us to give the coach options.”
Eriksen had been eased in slowly by Coach Antonio Conte and got his first goal in a Nerazzurri jersey.
“I too have arrived from a different style of football, so it’s not easy, even just the language issue. I had to adapt too and it takes a little time.
“Eriksen is intelligent and will do what the coach asks. Conte’s style of football is very demanding in physical terms, but Eriksen certainly has the quality.”
