Kamil Glik is relishing Benevento’s 1-1 draw with Juventus, but is ‘disappointed’ Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t participate too.
Alvaro Morata’s opener was cancelled out by a Gaetano Letizia volley, while both goalkeepers had to make tricky saves too.
“We were up against a great team, Juventus have so much quality, but we put in a great performance,” Glik told Sky Sport Italia.

Alvaro Morata’s opener was cancelled out by a Gaetano Letizia volley, while both goalkeepers had to make tricky saves too.
“We were up against a great team, Juventus have so much quality, but we put in a great performance,” Glik told Sky Sport Italia.
“We created as many scoring opportunities as they did, we held out well at the back, so it’s a point to be appreciated.
“This sort of approach isn’t just the one we need against Juve, but every week, as we are newly-promoted, and I feel with this attitude and determination, we’ll secure our Serie A safety.”
Glik is back in Serie A after several years in France, but he has a long history against Juventus thanks to his status as a Torino hero.
“I would be lying if I said this wasn’t a special game for me, as I spent five wonderful years at Toro. It means a lot to me, it is in my heart, but I play for Benevento now and the most important motivation was to get the points.”
Juventus rested Ronaldo, so was Glik relieved to learn CR7 wouldn’t make the trip to the Stadio Vigorito?
“I was actually disappointed Ronaldo wasn’t playing, as I love to challenge myself against the most important players in the world. I know him well, we both love a challenge.”
