“It’s an important match, we’re coming off a wayward period in terms of performances and want to rediscover ourselves ahead of the Barcelona game,” Giuntoli told Sky Sport Italia.

“We want to end this season on a high to have the right momentum so we can start the next campaign strong, because there’s no time to rest this summer.

“Our of the three tournaments Napoli competed in, the only one where we weren’t particularly impressive was in Serie A, and even then during the first half of the season.

“We won the Coppa Italia and have reached the Champions League Round of 16. It’s a satisfactory campaign that can become extraordinary if we get past Barcelona.”

The announcement of Osimhen’s transfer from Lille for €50m plus bonuses and Orestis Karnezis is expected every day, but keeps getting postponed.

“His agent opened the door to us, we’ll see over the next few days,” was all Giuntoli would comment on the matter.
