Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi is delighted that his club have delivered Juventus a finished product in Sebastian Giovinco.

The pint-sized forward joined the Tardini outfit from La Signora in the summer of 2010, but he has now returned to the Italian champions.

“Sebastian was always a humble boy, despite the fact that he knew that he had above average qualities,” Ghirardi noted. “His problem was that he wasn’t able to demonstrate that.

“Parma was the ideal place for him. He needed continuity and the opportunity to make mistakes. We gave him that and he entertained us like few others have.

“He turned into a footballer at Parma, an attacker of the highest level.

“He also improved in his movement off the ball with us because boss Roberto Donadoni made him understand how important that is.”

Giovinco, included in the latest Italy squad, played a pivotal role in Sunday’s 4-1 win at Udinese. He won a penalty and then scored twice himself for the leaders.
