Santiago Gimenez concedes Milan are ‘very disappointed’ after drawing 1-1 at home against Feyenoord on a night that marked their elimination from the Champions League.
The return leg of their knockout play-off started in the best possible way for the Rossoneri, as they broke the deadlock in less than a minute when Gimenez headed Malick Thiaw’s flick home from close range.
However, while Feyenoord seemed inoffensive in the opening 45 minutes, Theo Hernandez’s dismissal following two yellow cards reinvigorated the visitors, who started to pile pressure on Sergio Conceição’s side and eventually find the equaliser.

“We are very disappointed,” Gimenez told Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by TMW.
“We started well and scored right away. It seemed like Feyenoord couldn’t hurt us, but in football, everything can change in a second.
“Now we must not look back, only forward. We work in silence to achieve our goals.”
When asked whether Theo’s red card determined the outcome of the match, Gimenez expressed his support for his teammate.
“Today it happened to Theo, but it can happen to anyone,” the striker claimed.
“As a team, we give him our full support. He always gives everything and is one of the best full-backs in the world.”
