Alberto Gilardino could be out for some time after Fiorentina doctors confirmed a thigh strain.
The striker limped off during the second half of last night's 1-1 draw against Juventus.
Initial reports suggested a thigh strain and that has been confirmed by the official club website.
“There is a lesion to the thigh muscle and it will be evaluated in the next 24-36 hours.”
This means there is a strain, but more tests are needed to ascertain how serious the damage really is.

Gilardino could be out for anything from a week to six weeks, depending on the extent of the lesion.
There are also concerns over Artur Boruc, as the goalkeeper fell awkwardly on to his shoulder during a very difficult save on Giorgio Chiellini.
The Viola website confirmed “a sub-lesion that requires more tests,” and the injury may well have contributed to Simone Pepe's goal, floating a free kick over his head when the goalkeeper could not go at full stretch.
It would be a disaster to lose Boruc, as he is already filling in for Sebastien Frey after knee surgery.
Michele Camporese was stretchered off, but the 18-year-old is just suffering from cramp.
