Alberto Gilardino is hoping to rediscover his goal touch after leaving Genoa for Bologna on transfer deadline day.
The 30-year-old has joined the Rossoblu on loan after a difficult six-month spell at the Stadio Ferraris.

The 30-year-old has joined the Rossoblu on loan after a difficult six-month spell at the Stadio Ferraris.
“Emilia has always brought me luck, from Piacenza to Parma, and now I hope it is the same at Bologna,” he stated.
Gilardino underlined his potential during a spell at Parma where he netted an impressive 56 goals in 116 appearances.
However, he has struggled for form over recent seasons and is hoping to revive his career at the Dall’Ara – just like Beppe Signori, Roberto Baggio and Marco Di Vaio did before him.
“They were different types of players to myself, but I do hope that something will be born in this new challenge,” he added.
“I will wear the No 10 shirt, but I haven’t come here to set goals up – I’m here to score them. I’ll look to start playing my imaginary violin again [his goal celebration]. That has always stayed inside of me.”
The centre-forward’s difficulties have seen him lose his place in the Italian national side after helping his country to World Cup success in 2006.
“An Azzurri recall? I’m just aiming to do well here first, then we’ll see. But I’d love to play for Italy alongside Alessandro Diamanti – even for just one game.”
