Alberto Gilardino scored his first goals for Genoa this afternoon, as Giandomenico Mesto hails new Coach Pasquale Marino.
Gila completed his transfer from Fiorentina on Tuesday by signing a contract to June 2016 and celebrated his first goals in today’s game between ranks, putting two past Sebastien Frey.
He is not the only new man at Marassi, as Coach Marino took over during the Christmas break when Alberto Malesani was sacked.
“He is a meticulous tactician who often talks to the players, including individually, and is open to dialogue,” said winger Mesto.
“He tends towards the 4-3-3 system, so there will be a lot of work for me and my teammates. We’ve got to prepare for constant running up and down the flanks so we can set up the strikers.”
